Yuliya Victorovna Snigir (Russian: Юлия Викторовна Снигирь; born 2 June 1983) is a Russian actress and model.

Yuliya Snigir was born on June 2, 1983 in Donskoy in the Tula region of Russia. She appeared in the music video for the song "Do skoroi vstrechi (See you soon)" by the group Zveri.

As a young girl, Snigir played chess at a high level and at the age of 15 was awarded the prestigious title of Chess Master Candidate by the International Chess Federation. She was planning on pursing a professional career in chess but instead made a decision to continue her education and moved to Moscow on her own where she was accepted to the State Pedagogical University. Yuliya had to study and work at the same time to support herself financially. She was teaching English at an elementary school when a friend showed photos of Yuliya to a representative of one of the prestigious Moscow modeling agencies. While continuing her study program in University, Yuliya began to pursue modeling and soon became a successful model. She was offered a contract with a leading French jewelry brand and was planning to move to France when a casting director saw her at the modeling agency and invited for an audition. Her acting career officially started when she was accepted to the famous Vakhtangov Theatre Academy and was cast in two independent films. Yuliya's big break came when she was offered one of the leading roles in the Russian Sci-Fi blockbuster The Inhabited Island and the sequel The Inhabited Island 2. Fight. It made her a star in Russia. Yuliya subsequently became the face of L'Oreal, Mexx clothing, and Mexx perfume.

Yuliya divided her time between TV series, theater and film, playing a variety of roles and becoming a versatile actress with her projects ranging, from small independent films to TV dramas to large studio blockbuster to experimental theater. In the theater Yuliya played a male role in a very successful production of King Lear, which won several European and Russian theater awards. In 2012 she was chosen for the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise, which was released in February 2013.

She played Rada Gaal in The Inhabited Island.

She appeared in A Good Day to Die Hard alongside Bruce Willis. In the film, she played a Russian antagonist named Irina.[1][2]

Snigir dated and lived with Maksim Osadchy, a renowned cinematographer in Russia. After that relationship ended, Snigir began to date the Russian actor Danila Kozlovsky in 2012 after they met on the set of the filmRasputin directed by Jose Dayan.
